And maybe this whole Nibbler's Shadow thing was just a waste of time?.

On screen, it looks like him. But when I finally remembered to look at the end of the movie (took three rentings for me to catch it :P ) it looks more to me like it's the back of a chair. If that's Nibbler, what happened to his head? :saywhat: I mean I think it's him, it just doesn't look very much like it. I'm torn with myself.

No, it has to be him.  Not only have the artists left a completely blank spot between the left edge of the screen and the characters, but they have also filled it with a suspicious looking shadow.

If that is not Nibbler, then someone f**ked up.  It has to be, no other explanation makes sense.  Why would you show the shadow of a chair?  Shadows even rarely appear on screen on Futurama, unless they serve some kind of purpose; e.g. like Nibbler's.  And when they do, it is either to show some kind of lighting, or some kind of hint (as in this case).

The shadow is shaped like Nibbler, it is, trust me, stare at it enough, and you shall reach the same conclusion.  Anything else must be poor sight on your behalf.

What exactly it means?  That is what leaves me speculating, but I guess it might have something to do with what happens after the wormhole.

I'm not disagreeing, I do think it's him. I'm just saying that it's Nibbler on a diet or something. He's just shaped funny.

It's the angle the light is coming from, it's making the shadow elongated.

It's Nibbler's shadow alright, you can see the eyestalk etc.

Is that from blue-ray, or how did you get it to be like that?

Just a thought.

What if it had to be drawn at the very last moment before final production of the DVDs? Perhaps they got the slightest hint that the show was going to be renwed, so Nibbler was a last minute addition, not drawn by the regular artist?

It was a last minute addition, (so that is probable) he was added after they decided to have Leela confess her love for Fry,
So they put him there to wipe their memories as an excuse to reset.
Just remember I was the first person to speculate that, I can't stress that enough.

Why is this topic about whether it is Nibbler and not about what it might mean?

Is that from blue-ray, or how did you get it to be like that?

It's cropped from a framegrab from my blu-ray copy, yes. I turned up the brightness and contrast to make it stand out a little clearer.

Oh, and you're the one who noticed and posted it first, aren't you? So well spotted and well done for that. ;)

Why is this topic about whether it is Nibbler and not about what it might mean?

I thought that was already covered by the "Do you (or did you) "Not" want the F&L relationship to reset?" and the "what will happen next?" threads.

Ok, they're not specifically about Nibbler but they cover much of the same territory including the Nibbler question and they already overlap about that.
